$15 MILLION LEGACY UNVEILED

Jordan Eberle scored twice in the final three minutes to force overtime, becoming Canada's all-time leading goal scorer, but Canada's World Junior gold medal streak ended at five with an extra-time loss to the Americans.

 

SWITZERLAND 1 - CANADA 6
SEMIFINAL | SUN. JAN. 3

Taylor Hall had two goals and Jake Allen made 20 saves as Canada advanced to the gold medal game for the ninth year in a row. Jordan Eberle, Marco Scandella, Brayden Schenn and Stefan Della Rovere also scored.

 

CANADA 5 – UNITED STATES 4 (SO)
PRELIMINARY | THU. DEC. 31

Jordan Eberle, Nazem Kadri and Brandon Kozun all scored in the shootout as Canada locked up first place in Group A and a bye to the semis with a victory over the U.S. in another World Junior classic between the rivals.

 

CANADA 8 - SLOVAKIA 2
PRELIMINARY | TUE. DEC. 29

Taylor Hall scored Canada’s third hat trick in as many games, and added an assist, as the Canadians stayed perfect with a victory over the Slovaks. Ryan Ellis finished with a goal and an two assists in the win.

CANADA 6 – SWITZERLAND 0 | PRELIMINARY | MON. DEC. 28
Brandon McMillan scored a goal in each period, Jordan Eberle had a goal and four assists and Jake Allen made 15 saves for the shutout as Canada earned its 17th consecutive World Junior win against the Swiss.

LATVIA 0 - CANADA 16 | PRELIMINARY | SAT. DEC. 26
Gabriel Bourque tied a Canadian record with seven points and Canada recorded its largest shutout win ever at the World Juniors with a rout of the Latvians. Brandon Kozun added five points in the lopsided win.

CANADA 3 – CZECH REPUBLIC 2 | PRE-TOURNAMENT | WED. DEC. 23
Jordan’s Eberle’s power play goal in the final minute of the second period stood up as the winner as Canada wrapped up a perfect pre-tournament with a ‘W’. Taylor Hall and Gabriel Bourque also scored for Canada.

CANADA 3 - FINLAND 0 | PRE-TOURNAMENT | TUE. DEC. 22
Martin Jones made 17 saves to record the shutout in the building he plays his junior hockey in as Canada picked up its second pre-tournament win. Alex Pietrangelo, Taylor Hall and Brandon McMillan all scored goals.

CANADA 6 – SWEDEN 2 | PRE-TOURNAMENT | SUN. DEC. 20
Nazem Kadri had three assists to lead the offence as Canada opened its pre-tournament schedule with a win over the Swedes. Six players scored goals and 14 had a point as Canada scored the game’s first five goals.
